Sports Premium Funding is an additional amount schools receive from the government to improve the quality of the PE and Sport activities that schools offer their pupils.

We aim to use our sports premium in a variety of ways to enhance to sports provision in our school.

If you would like to discuss this further please do contact the school and ask to speak to the headteacher.

Sports Premium Report 2016/17

The impact of our Sports premium grant was that;

all our children attended swimming for the whole of the Summer term and half of the Autumn term. We were able to provide 3 swimming tutors from the newest beginners to the more advanced and all our children are more confident and proficient. Maintaining the funding level for transport to the swimming pool has ensured that all pupils are able to attend and receive that maximum benefit.

Simon Carson introduced some additional sports to our children such as archery.

Forest School activities were not booked as some of the Sports grant went towards funding the trip to Pete Rigg (y5/6) out door adventurous activities. However, we will be training one of our staff members to become a Forest School leader in 2017/18.

We have ensured that we attend as many of the sporting events offered by the Whitby Area Sports package as possible and have been able to fund transport, at least one way to all the fixtures.

Our ‘Everyone Active More Often’ agenda has resulted in one of our weekly clubs being sport based throughout the year.

We have had a lunch time football/tennis club for 2/3 of the year.
